Team Giumarra was happy to have the opportunity to present the ARRA varieties and connect with growers and customers in person at the IFPA Global Produce & Floral Show, which took place on 27-29 of October in Orlando, Florida.

Giumarra Vineyards has been exhibiting at the show, formerly called the PMA Fresh Summit, since 2013. This year’s show felt like an industry reunion since the show was held virtually in 2020 and cancelled in 2021.

The Giumarra Team

Last week Sahyadri Farms held a field day for all the ARRA producers. Events like these provide the growers with even more tools, knowledge and support to continue to improve the production quality.

As trade in Asia is continuously growing and evolving, while holding huge potential, the Grapa team took this opportunity to be an active part of the event, in order to develop new and existing partnerships with producers and traders from different countries.

Asia Pacific accounts for 68% of global fresh fruit consumption. This figure exemplifies the extent of Asia’s major role in  the sector, with numerus opportunities for table grapes producers in Asia.

The ARRA Varieties on display at the Grapa Stand

On display at the Grapa stand, visitors could enjoy some of the best varieties offered by the ARRA Breeding Programme. Among the selection, were the newly launched mid white ARD 39, the mid red ARD 36 and the mid-late red ARD 43. Of course, the well known mid white ARRA Sweetiesβ„’ and our black diamond, ARRA Mystic Dreamβ„’, also caught the visitors’ eyes of the visitors.

The Bangkok expo wasn’t as big or busy as the usual Asia Fruit Logistica in previous years. This could possibly be explained by altered timing (November instead of September), so many of the producers from the South Hemispheres already started the season and therefore could not attend.
Additionally, due to the ongoing, strict COVID restrictions in China, many were unable to participate. This allowed the Grapa team to truly devote time to each one of the visitor and hold significant, in depth meetings with many of our partners and colleagues from around the world, and  those based in Australia, New Zealand, and Japan,  for whom most expos are too far to easily attend.

Nomi reports: “These 3 days at ASIA Fruit Logistica offered us a unique opportunity to introduce the newest and already well established ARRA Varieties, to create new contacts and to develop new business, but not only these were achieved. We also brought back home with us essential and important market information related to many aspect of the fresh produce trade throughout the entire Asian region and this is extremely valuable”.

Next year ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA will be back in Hong Kong on 6-8 September and we’ll be there to continue where we left off.
