There is a huge buzz around the ARRA Fire Crunch™, now being harvested in Piura, Peru.
This past week Pura Fruit opened their gates to share their beautiful results. Growers and traders from near and far were eager to be part of the special tours that Karl Conrads, founder and CEO of Grapasa, the territorial representative for the ARRA™ varieties in South America, led among the rows.
Over a few days, general managers and farm managers from leading producers and exporters, came to see ARRA Fire Crunch shining on the vines right before harvest.
The esteemed guests were thoroughly impressed, so we are glad to share some of their reactions:
“Noteworthy fertility, especially in a very challenging year in Piura.”
“A brilliant red colour.”
“Great eating quality.”
“Outstanding rachis, strong and green.”
“Easy to grow.”
“Excellent berry size, 24-26 mm and weight, average 10,5 g, about 3 g more than other varieties of comparable size.”
“Strong vines to support a heavy crop that reaches close to 40 tons per ha.”
And to think that all this was achieve from vines planted in the first week of January 2023.
Everyone who sees and tastes this remarkable, mid-season sparkling red variety, is mesmerized. The eating quality is literally out of this world. It’s totally different from any grape anyone’s seen. Hard to describe in words, but it’s like eating an apple and everyone who tastes them experiences a joyful celebration of the pallet.
Samples of ARRA Fire Crunch from Peru are on their way to one of the leading retailers in the US and we can’t wait to hear about their arrival.
The Crush Everyone’s talking about!
Tony Calvillo, Vice President of International Business Development, Dayka & Hackett LLC, shared: “Today, we visited the ARRA Cherry Crush—a grape variety that exceeds the expectations of growers, consumers, and retailers alike. We are thrilled to witness its remarkable potential. Boasting an alluring cherry colour, impressive size, abundant production, and a perfect balance of taste and crunch, ARRA Cherry Crush creates a mutually beneficial scenario for discerning producers, consumers, and retailers.”
Igniting the senses
Just in time for the festive season, the inaugural batch of ARRA Fire Crunch™ made its way from Peru to the USA. Karl Conrads, founder, CEO of Grapasa accompanied the first year vines from budbreak all the way to Walmart facilities in Los Angeles.

Sharing the passion – Right now in Southern Africa:
“It’s a great, beautiful grape, we are having a great time packing it.” shares Gabriel Viljoen of G.P. Viljoen Farming
We’ve heard other growers excited about this year’s performance.
“The ARRA Passion Fire was probably the most beautiful red grapes around on our farms.”
Start the season with a Kiss
This year, attendees got a firsthand look at ARRA Fire Kiss™ in Egypt. What stood out was how distinctly different it was from the Flame, leaving no doubt that it is the perfect Flame replacement.
