A new year means a new chapter and in this first 2023 Grapa Newsletter, we are looking back to an exciting 2022. What a year it has been! We’ve wrapped it up just for you!

Dear ARRA Community,
As the year comes to a close, I wanted to take a moment to share some significant achievements we have made in 2022. We are thrilled to have seen strong demand for the existing commercialized ARRA varieties and are proud to have introduced a range of new varieties to the market. In addition, we have implemented a number of structural changes to support our ongoing growth and expansion.
This year, Grapa launched an exceptional lineup of new table grape varieties, including the earliest white, red, and black varieties in the world, as well as a selection of intriguing red varieties. We are proud to bring this innovative and high-quality portfolio to the market.
Despite the many challenges in 2022, including workforce shortages, higher production and shipping costs, shipping logistics complications, uncertainty in the supply chain and unexpected weather events, we are grateful for the growth we have seen. We were proud to provide the industry with varieties that are cost-effective to grow and rain resistant to withstand unexpected precipitation. Our progress this year give us confidence that we are on a positive trajectory and well-positioned for continued growth with a bright future ahead.
We want to express our sincere gratitude to our international teams, partners, and licensees for their hard work and dedication to the ARRA program. Your efforts have been invaluable, and we are grateful for your commitment and support. We are excited to see what the future holds and look forward to continuing to work together to achieve even greater success.
Sincerely,
Rafi Karniel
Grapa Chairman and CEO

As we look back on 2022, it is clear that this has been a significant and successful year for the ARRA program, a year in which we have made strides towards increasing our global presence and enhancing the ARRA brand. This year has also brought improved production quality of our existing varieties thanks to the efforts of our agents and technical teams worldwide.
We took every possible opportunity we had in order to travel to meet with ARRA growers and partners to provide our in-person support and guidance. The Grapa Team was pleased to attend many fresh produce events in 2022.
April – Fruit Logistica Berlin

October – Fruit Attraction Madrid

November – Asia Fruit Logistica Bangkok

Global Grape Congress (Bakersfield CA) & Grape Attraction (Madrid)

Live again: the ARRA Field Days
In-person attendance to the field days as well as farm visits during 2022, has given us the opportunity to strengthen relationships with our current partners as well as facilitate the development and advantage to explore potential partnerships in new regions.
The ARRA Field Days in California made a very successful come back in 2022. After a forced 2-year hiatus due to Covid travel and gathering restrictions we were thrilled to be able to present the newest very early and early ARRA selections at the July field day and the mid, mid-late and late varieties in August.

Throughout 2022 the Grapa team traveled near and far to provide support to ARRA™ producers and ensure true to type, quality produce throughout the ARRA world.
To guarantee coverage of the ever-growing global plantations, Andre Vermaak joined the team in July 2022 in order to support the ARRA producers around the world in his role of Global Tech Support.

2022 has been the year where we celebrated the 10-year Anniversary of Grapa in Brazil: a meaningful and spectacular full day event to celebrate the magnitude of this milestone.

Among the latest launched varieties we are proud of our new line of red ARRA grapes. From the very early ARD 42 to the early-mid season ARD 35 and the mid-late ARD 36, the ARRA RED FACTOR is all about distinct shiny red shades, flavor and a unique eating experience.
The red ARD 36 has been one of 2022’s shining stars. Its popularity is on the rise and definitely a variety to watch out for. This striking red cherry, mid-season variety bears sweetness, crunchiness and its eating qualities create a truly exceptional experience. This variety is newly grown commercially in Brazil and will soon be available in many other countries as well
