ARRA Varieties Take Berlin at Fruit Logistica

Throughout three busy days at Berlin Fruit Logistica 2024, the Grapa team engaged in insightful meetings with familiar faces and newcomers, delving into ARRA variety prospects while fortifying our global network.

Fresh ARRA Grapes Steal the Show

At the Grapa stand, we proudly showcased the finest ARRA varieties, from diverse regions worldwide, including South Africa, USA, Brazil and for the first time, from India. The ARRA Red Factor line took center stage, with the early-mid ARRA Fire Crunch™ and the mid-late ARRA Cherry Crush™ receiving exceptional feedback from hundreds of intrigued visitors. Fair visitors came especially to the stand asking to see and taste these varieties that have created a buzz in the industry as game changers.

Let’s Toast to Our Mutual Grape Passion

Seamlessly blending business with pleasure, we maintained our tradition of a delightful Happy Hour in collaboration with our esteemed partner AVI (the exclusive territorial representatives for ARRA Varieties in Europe). Together guests celebrated the start of another year of fruitful collaboration, passion, and innovation within our business.

Pallets from Around the World

Nomi Karniel-Padan, Grapa Varieties’ Commercial Director, excited with the fresh and diverse array: “It was significant to provide visitors with a comprehensive perspective on the success of each grape variety in various key growing regions. For instance, the ARRA Sweeties™ from India, Brazil and South Africa were equally alluring and all provided an impressive eating experience”.

A Red for Each Season

Nomi expresses her viewpoint on the red varieties, noting, “There appears to be a divide among those who have gotten to know ARRA Fire Crunch and ARRA Cherry Crush, regarding which one is the ultimate red. However, we conveyed to them that there’s no need to make a definitive choice. Producers, traders, and retailers can opt to embrace the benefits of both varieties.”

Chile’s ARRA Beauties

ARRA Fire Crunch Field Days Redefining the Grape Experience

The Grapasa Team led by Karl Conrads, has been on a roll this February, as they organize a series of ARRA Field Days throughout Chile, with their first event in Vicuña, Elqui Valley, standing out as a resounding success. Hosted by Fruticola Y Exportadora Atacama, the Field Day was a hit, as evident in the vibrant photos capturing the excitement and engagement of attendees. At the heart of the event was ARRA Fire Crunch™ , the variety that stole the spotlight with its striking appearance, high yield, and exquisite eating quality. Attendees were particularly impressed by the variety’s exceptional crunchiness and vibrant red color, making it a favorite of all those who experience it.

Following the ARRA Fire Crunch celebrations in Vicuña, the Grapasa Team continued their event chain with another ARRA Field Day, this time in Calle Larga, Aconcagua Valley at Instituto Agrícola Pascual Baburizza. The spotlight remained on ARRA Fire Crunch, further solidifying its reputation as an extremely appealing red variety, that continued delighting representatives of leading industry companies.

Listen to the feedback, we couldn’t have put it better ourselves:

With the achievements of their recent events, the Grapasa Team is now busy preparing for the next Field Days in Santiago South. Stay tuned for updates on their continuous showcase of the best in grape cultivation across the region.

These Chilean ARRA Sweeties are Exceptional

Jose Miguel Bauza, Owner Agricola Bauza, is proud of the company’s ARRA Sweeties™ harvest, that reaches great results, year after year.

Shachar Karniel, the breeder of the ARRA Varieties, reacts to the results seen in the packing house: “This is the ultimate quality, I salute the guys in Bauza”.

ARRA Varieties in India - Going Once, Going Twice…

On February 11-12, additional ARRA sale days took place. The primary objective of this initiative was to showcase the varieties to potential growers and illustrate their performance in the local market, which is the destination of 95% precent of local grapes production. Approximately 1500 grape growers of the Sahyadri Cooperative participated in the sale. The auction kicked off at a starting price of $12.5 per 4.8-kilogram box and concluded at $15.9 -16.9 per box.

From India, Uzi Yaron, Grapa’s R&D Director shares that: “This is a fascinating direction that presents complete transparency and innovation that I have not yet encountered anywhere. There is no better way to demonstrate to the growers the quality of a grape variety.”

On Tour in Nashik

As part of Uzi’s ongoing periodic visits, he specifically toured designated ARRA Sweeties blocks to pinpoint and address any challenges. He reports: “The results I see in the vineyards are excellent, many growers are on the same level as the best producers worldwide. There’s reason to believe that in the near future, grapes from India arriving in Europe, could rank among the world’s best.”

We, at Grapa, are truly grateful for our partnership with Sahyadri Farms, that is continuously growing and evolving.
