ARRA Field Days: Brazil 2023

On the week of November 9, the ever-growing Grapa Brazil team held the seventh annual field day, in Petrolina, to showcase the stunning ARRA in Brazil. Throughout the three days, the event drew more than 300 producers, technical managers, and this year with a new focal audience: key local and global table grape trading companies.

The Grapa Brazil team was reinforced by Uzi Yaron, Grapa’s R&D Director, Karl Conrads Grapasa’s CEO, and Carlo Lingua, AVI/RK Growers CEO. They were each able to share with producers in Brazil their experiences with ARRA™ Varieties in their territories. Karl shared his experience from Chile and Peru, while Carlo provided valuable insights from a marketing perspective. Their expertise and insights set a broader global outlook.

The tour of the varieties was led by Augusto Prado, President of Grapa Brazil and table grape consultant in the region, as well as by Amanda Rodrigues, Technical Manager of Grapa Brazil, in charge of the trial blocks of the ARRA varieties in Brazil. With their unique viewpoints on the ARRA programme, they both shared information and experiences in the rows as well as during the tasting.

Although the ARRA Field Days’ focal point was on the mesmerizing ARRA Cherry Crush™, this was also a stage for the immense potential of the newest flavour varieties from the ARRA breeding programme. Attendees were amazed by what the future holds for the grape industry.
